Vintage brown leather tanker style shoulder holster rig. Holster is brown leather, specifically pig skin with adjustable harness. Holster is for a medium frame auto such as a Walther PP, PPK. Very solid nicely made holster.
I believe this holster to possibly be a World War Two civilian made bring back holster. the top area of the holster above where grip would be seated was a name in pencil and what appears to be a serial number. Often after the end of World War Two civilians would make holsters for U.S. troops for the German bring back pistols. Often pig leather was used. The troops commonly would pencil their name and pistol serial number or their service number to avoid it being taken by another troop.
