Very rare, L.A. Sessums / Langley Albertus "Bert" Sessums was a renowned holster maker and made holsters for the Texas Rangers. Born in 1877 and died 27 April 1945 at the age of 68. Sessums has holsters in the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum located in Waco TX. This holster was obtained from collector in Lake Whitney TX.
This holster is from sometime in the early 1900's. It is a brown hand floral carved Brill style open top holster. Front is stamped L.A. SESSOMS MAKER LONGVIEW TEXAS. Holster is right draw for a Smith & Wesson 4" Model 10 M&P revolver. Holster is missing some stitching along back edge and there is some surface cracking on top front interior. These are best observed in last photos. This holster is likely over 100 years old..
