Vintage Bucheimer Hank Sloan FBI style holster. This particular Hank Sloan FBI styleholster was issued to the Office Of Naval Intelligence . At the end of 1965 these were shipped to individual Naval Intelligence offices for agents for their new 4" S&W model 19 revolvers and were stamped O.N.I. 9 A Bucheimer single snap dump pouch was also issued at same time. Each agent was given printed instructions on how to block their new holster for a better fit. Right were only issued in brown and Left were available only in black. A second issuance of this holster was done 2-3 years later were no longer stamped O.N.I. 9.
Between the first issuance of the O.N.I.-9 holster and the second issuance 2-3 years later there was a order of replacement holsters made by Naval Intelligence. For this order they went to the Bucheimer production facility to pick these up. These were stamped as this holster being offered with hank Sloan Bucheimer stamp, with HS-7. Also stamped was O.N.I. as done with original order. That would put the production of this O.N.I. issue holster sometime between 1965 and 1968.
Holster is for a Smith & Wesson model 19 4". Welt is adjustable to adjust the retention. Loop will fit a belt up to 1 3/4", Leather, stitching and hardware all in very nice condition. Impossible holster to find..
