Vintage Safariland #29 Thumb Break Holster. Holster is black basketweave with adjustable snap on retention strap. Holster is for a Smith & Wesson L frame such as a 686 or 586 and OLD Python 4", LEFT draw. Leather, stitching and hardware all in nice condition. This is from when Safariland made a high quality holster here in the U.S..

Safariland Model 29 Thumb Break Holster Per. 1979 Catalog
Designed for 2 1/2”, 4” and 6” revolvers, and now for the 5” S&W Model 27, it rides high and has a stitched on belt loop. For the 2 1/2 size, the belt loop is a 2”, and for the larger revolvers it’s 2 1/4”. The exclusive Safariland sight track and metal reinforced thumb break are standard.
